Theatrical Anthropologist, drama teacher, actress and founding member of the El Trastero de las Artes Native from Buenos Aires and settled in Barcelona about 7 years ago.
Today, we are going to introduce you a woman who, travelling with theatre company, decided to settle down in this country. After years of living in Milan and Paris, she has found in Barcelona a place where to feel welcome by the warmth and the quality of the city, plus the cultural offer.
After just a short time of being here, she has decided to enrol in the creation of a project called El Trastero de las Artes (The Arts Storeroom), offering now a huge background made of a series of activities and events using art as a mean of transformation, unification and learning. Theatre, dance, music, storytelling and plastic expression are part of the tools used to turn this purpose into a reality.
These projects, supported by large institutions, have taken a huge task to be released on a market not easy to get into, and have won credibility and good diffusion over the time.
If we have to highlight some of the projects, we will start with Mucha Mujer, concerned whit the integration of women in situations of social exclusion. Since 2010 women can use this voice, to join their many voices into one, giving the best of themselves on stage. “Theatre can be used as a tool to transform lives. Theatre gets more importance when you are acting your own story.
Laura Settecase contributes also in initiatives such as “Temps per tu” – Les Corts (Time for you –Les Corts), providing recreational and cultural activities for people with disabilities to give some personal time to their families and caregivers.
Another proposal that has caught our attention is the “Sensorial Dinner Experience”, realizing different personalized proposals for every client, with different locations.
This means that we will be able to enjoy with all our senses the knowledge of an area, theme or specific time.
Once we realize that our sight limits our chance to enjoy a new experience, this activity will strengthen the rest of our sense using drama as the main ingredient, with the help of tastes, smells and sounds that will guide us for the whole experience helping us to totally focus on the story, the time and the place where it happens. Take a look at the video below to get a more detailed idea about the project.
How do they do it?
When there is a topic or a desired location, the team runs a complete investigation about it, talking with specialized chefs, historians, and anyone who may have useful knowledge about the area. There are no limits regarding the number of guests. Each actor will have a small group assigned and will give them his full attention and guide during the experience, as it requires detailed work and personalized attention. For this reason, they have different actors fluent in different languages as Spanish, Catalan, Italian, French and English.
So, we recommend you that if you want to learn more about the history and cuisine of the country you are visiting, do not hesitate and arrange a multi sensory dinning. It will be a great experience! You can organize a dinner for your friends or family, a celebration or even a corporate event or dinner. Contact us and we will offer different options according to your needs.
