There are thousand of activities to do these days, to commemorate the Tricentenari. Are you lost among all the options? Not sure what to do? Don’t worry!. Remember that most of the activities will have continuity. Most of the exhibitions will be open until the end of September or even the end of the year. There will be historic representations all over the month in different places of Catalunya, as for example in Hostalric, where the Miquelets de Girona will perform an historic recreation during the Fair of Sant Miquel (27th – 28th September). And, remember that Cardona dind’t capitulate until the 18th September 1714 so, although there are plenty of activities scheduled during these days, you will be able to relive the Diada in Cardona from the 18th to the 21st September during the celebration of the Aplec.
We don’t want to bother you with more activities and plans. We only have two recommendations that will be really useful, no matter where you decide to go.
The first recommendation is gastronomic. From the “Fundació Institut Català de la Cuina i cultura gastronòmica”, have coordinated the selection and adaptation of the best traditional Catalan dishes from the eighteenth century. Several Catalan restaurants (that can be checked from this link) have joined this campaign and will be offering traditional dishes, such as the “escudella i carn d’olla” (soup with meat), “coca de recapte” (salad bread with vegetables and sardines), “bacallà amb carxofes” (cod with artichokes) … feeling hungry?Wait to discover the dessert! They have also published a book with the history of this dishes and the recipes.
The last recommendation that you cannot miss is an application. This complete tool, created for the Route 1714, has different parts. You can access the different chapters of a novel that will be published weekly: Kins of Sand. It offers a huge and rigorous historic information of the facts, including videos. If we decide to visit some of the towns that are included in the route, we will unlock different chapters where famous characters of the eighteenth century will explain stories that won’t disappoint us. A great way to have access to all the information available in the route.
But remember that there are many other recommendations available. If you have missed our latest articles, you can catch up with the main exhibitions and expositions or the recommended routes and guided visits upon your preferences: panoramic views, city or nature. And you have also access to our agenda with all the activities scheduled.
